Messier 92
Messier 92 is a globular cluster of tightly packed stars relatively near the centre of our galaxy. The cluster is approximately 26,700 LY away. Although it is not quite so bright or spectacular as its neighbour Messier 13, it is still visible with the naked eye from the northern hemisphere.
Stars in globular clusters are old and in this case 14 billion years. That takes us back toward the beginning of time and the birth of the entire universe.
